Microdot Testing

The Microdot Association South Africa (MASA) together with the microdot suppliers in Southern Africa work together to successfully implement the requirements of Transport Department and regulation 56. All vehicles registered from 2012 will need to have microdot identification.

The microdot system has to conform to SANS 534. This standard involves various aging and exposure methods to simulate and accelerate conditions in the field.

For evaluations purchases high pressure washes hot and cold follow after which a certain percentage of the microdots should be readable.

This in essence allow the authorities of Southern Africa when a vehicle has been stolen to quickly and easily identify the vehicle. We have over 5 years experience in testing the microdot systems applied by the various suppliers of microdot systems.
